Students nationwide will return to school on January 8, 2024, following a 10-week break, as indicated by the Ministry of Education’s published term dates.
For pre-primary, primary, and secondary schools, the first term will span 13 weeks with a brief half-term break of 3 days from February 29, 2024, to March 3, 2024. Subsequently, learners will embark on the April holiday from April 8, 2023, to April 26, 2024.

Term two is scheduled to span 14 weeks, running from April 29 to August 2, 2024, with a mid-term break set for August 20 to 23, 2024.
The third term will be comparatively shorter, lasting for 9 weeks from August 26 to October 25, 2024. Learners will then break for the December holidays and resume classes on January 3, 2025.
The Kenya Primary School Education Assessment (KPSEA) and Kenya Intermediate Education Assessment (KILEA) examinations are slated to take place from October 28 to October 31, 2024.
Following this, the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations will be conducted from November 4 to November 22, 2024.
Meanwhile, teachers’ training colleges will commence their first term on January 8 and conclude on April 5, 2024, followed by a holiday period from April 8 to April 26, 2024.
The second term for teachers’ training colleges will commence on April 29 and conclude on August 2, 2024, while the final term is set to begin on August 26 and conclude on November 8, 2024.
